It all started on the night of the Grammys…
A commentator asked Patrick Carney (The Black Keys) his thoughts on Justin Bieber’s absence at the Grammys and lack of nominations. Carney responded, “He’s rich, right? Grammy’s are for music, not for money. He’s making a lot of money. He should be happy, I guess.” Hearing this, Bieber took Twitter stating, “The Black Keys drummer should be slapped around haha.” But the feud didn’t stop there! On his personal Twitter account, Carney began impersonating Bieber and met the backlash of die-hard Bieber fans (“Beliebers”) which he sassed right back.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards aired Sunday night with millions of music lovers glued to the tube (see our community data & Grammy predictions). The biggest night in music is also the most tweeted-about event on television and one of the biggest events of the year for our community of music lovers on SoundTracking.
We analyzed SoundTracking app data from the night of the Grammys and compiled a ranked list of the most buzzworthy artists. Not only are most of these artists Grammy winners, but 9 of the top 10 performed live Sunday night! Talk about some awesome music moments! Coincidence? We think not.
Extremely different from her performance at the 54th Grammy awards last year, this year, Taylor Swift wore a white ring master outfit with a white Gaga-meets-Willy-Wonka circus in tow as she sang “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Less country, more pop, more drama… was that a Harry Styles double on stage with her? Yup.
3. Fun.*
5. Ed Sheeran*
Sir Elton John was such a big fan of “The A Team” singer, that prior to Sunday, he personally called Ed Sheeran (from a blocked number) to collaborate at the Grammys. It’s really cool to see a pair like that sing together live onstage. Collaborations are the best part of music award ceremonies!
7. Miguel*

Miguel killed it with a passionate and energetic rendition of his Grammy winning hit “Adorn.” Kelly Clarkson liked the performance so much that she mentioned him when accepting her own Grammy. “Miguel, I don’t know who the hell you are, but we need to sing together. I mean, good God, that was the sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen.” Miguel later responded via twitter saying “@Kelly_Clarkson say when! You killed tonight, MUCH LOVE”.
8. Frank Ocean*

While dawning a yellow suit and sweatband, Frank Ocean performed his song “Forrest Gump” as the screen behind him depicted a diverse crowd of runners in a cool video projection model backdrop.
10. Carly Rae Jepsen
(* Performed Live at The Grammys)
Another “Grammy” winner for the night- Congrats to ipadsammy who won our SoundTracking Grammy Giveaway!
