Was cleaning my room the other day and I found the set list I swiped from the Tahiti 80 show we saw at SXSW ‘11. Also appropriate for V-day, since they generally sing tunes about luv.
Naldi
Happy Anti-V day! Remember to brush your teeth after eating those sweets~
Kazu
Definitely an appropriate song for Valentines Day!
Jacq
This has to be the sweetest love song ever! I’m such a sap sometimes when it comes to love songs. Alex Turner’s voice is just divine. PS. This photo was taken at Disneyland. So cute right?

There is nothing to more to say than this song and the memories attached to it, except, “Thank You.”
Eliza
I love this song. It reminds me of very innocent love, and takes me back to high school, when love meant something very different. Happy Valentines Day!

Barry Brecheisen’s entertainment photography has appeared regularly in every major magazine including Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, People, US, Time and dozens of other publications. Known first and foremost as a rock ’n’ roll photographer, Barry has shot Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bruce Springsteen — and practically every famous rock star who’s toured since 1997. Barry was the photo editor for RollingStone.com from 1998-2001, these days he is a highly in-demand freelancer working out of Chicago. www.barrybrecheisen.com
Who doesn’t love The Chi? While photographing rockstars, Barry was able to share his favorite music moments on SoundTracking with us! We learned a lot more about his favorite types of music and his favorite Christmas song!

This was my first night using Soundtracking, I was pitched by a publicist to check out this band out of New York. The word disco can have a bad connotation but the singer was photogenic and the publicist caught me in a good mood. The Metro is one of the classic venue’s in Chicago and I ended up having such a great night. Escort is great live and maybe I helped to introduce them to new music fans.
Chicago’s Underground nightclub was hosting a charity event for the Red Orchid Theatre with founding member Michael Shannon of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. It was a fun night and they were playing music all over the map. Obviously, with a song by The Kinks. But a great tune that you don’t hear to often.
I wasn’t convinced the former members could pull the show off without Davey Jones. Yet, they opened up with this song and the show was a great nostalgic trip. Not to mention seeing them at the Chicago Theatre whose marquee is the photo I shot showcasing my post.
Most often than not, I get in a SoundTracking mood when I’m out and about. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this new Stones track. All the odds were against them and they proved they could still make a great pop single in 2012. I had to share it with everyone I knew!
The Who is one of my all time favorite bands. However, I failed myself back in 1997 when I saw the band play their Quadrophenia album live. I just didn’t know the album as I should have. Since then, it’s become my favorite album just second to Who’s Next. All these years later, I was given a second chance and saw them play it once again in it’s entirety at Chicago’s Allstate Arena.
I was such a big Gabriel fan growing up and saw both legs of his So tour. With that in mind, I was sad I couldn’t attend the recent anniversary tour because of another paid assignment. I’m a photographer by trade and sometimes you have to take the paycheck over a fun night of live music. So to wax nostalgia, I had to put on the whole So album from start to finish.
I was sitting in a Starbucks editing my images in Columbus, Ohio. I just came from an afternoon of photographing the Grassroots Rally with President Obama with Springsteen and Jay-Z. I was editing as quick as I could when I hear this awesome cover of a Elton John song. It’s one of my all time favorites and Elton’s version was my first dance at my wedding. I loved the cover so much I had to Soundtrack it.
I had spent a grueling day of last minute X-Mas shopping. Got into my car and “Welcome to the Machine” was playing. The Wish you Were Here album is probably my favorite Floyd album and perfectly captured the moment.
A rather obscure X-Mas song to say the least. Who knew they even made one?!? I created a X-Mas genre for my iPod and every X-Mas I pop it in for a rock ‘n roll tour of X-Mas music through the years; as I drive to one of my many relatives.
