This song is just so good. It’s smooth and emotional, crisp and cool. It reminds me of the winter of 2003/4, in the most emotional way. It was cold, I was living in Chicago, and Ryan Adams was pretty much on the top of my ‘play on repeat and fall in love with’ list. This is a sit by the fire, have a glass of red wine, and contemplate the seasons of life kind of song.
Sam

I think this song came out while I was pretty young, but it was such a hit and every time that I’d hear it I’d have to sing along. Such a 90s/00s classic. I can definitely picture Joe serenading his honey with this, a fire burning in the background, and snow on the ground outside!

No one does slow jams quite like the R (Brian McKnight could be a close second). One of the greatest R&B singers of all time in my book, the man can be as direct or metaphorical as he wants with his songs and still be (somewhat) tasteful. No matter the groove, lyric, or melody, no artist has a better catalogue of sit-by-the-fire-and-romance-it-up songs than the Pied Piper of R&B.

This is such a great song by the Raconteurs. It’s sweet, sensitive and realistic. This song also has some of my favorite lyrics. “I’m adding something new to the mixture, so there’s a different hue to your picture. A different ending to this fairytale. When the sunset into which we sail.” Slow jam genius!
Duncan
This is an old-school 311 jam that has a good vibe to it. #slowjam

When I think “slow jam”, I think R&B. I stopped listening to the genre a long long time ago, but here’s a recent track that I actually like.
Alex

No slow jam mixtape would be complete without some lowrider oldies!

This is a heartbreaker. Usher wants to love her, but he’s got to let her go. It hurts not just him, but me too.

Planning life in front of a fireplace with hot coco is a must thing todo! What else can you do when you couldn’t go outside because of heavy rain :)
Matt
This slow jam classic / yacht rock favorite was so smooth Warren G had to sample it for “Regulate.”
